Inside one account, yes — you can hold a buy and a sell on the same symbol on the same account, and nothing about that is restricted. What is not allowed is hedging ACROSS accounts: a buy on one of your accounts and a sell on the same symbol on another of yours at the same time. Accounts are matched by the email they are registered to, so the two legs count as one hedge even though they sit on different accounts. Doing it breaches the conditions of the programme: the payout can be refused, the results it produced cancelled and the accounts reset to their starting balance — and if it happens again, closed for good. So that nobody's payout is decided by who happened to buy that week. The payout split is the pool divided by everyone's eligible profit, so a fee landing whole on the day it is bought would move the split for every trader already in that pool, overnight. Entering at 10% per trading day spreads it out: no single purchase can lift — or dilute — the split you are about to be paid on. By the 10th trading day, when your account can first request a payout, 100% of your own fee is in the pool.
